These selected students were those who have been topers in their classes – (VII-VIII). Baqer Mehdi`s (1973) testes of Verbal creativity and non-verbal creativity were administered on them to measure the creative potential of the sampled subjects. The verbal test of creativity includes four sub-tests, namely, Consequences test, Unusual uses test, Similarity test, and Product improvement test. It provides three factor scores- fluency, flexibility and originality. Findings reveals that boys and girl differ significantly on fluency, flexibility and total mean scores of creativity (verbal). It has also been found that academically gifted boys and girls differ significantly on flexibility and total verbal score of creativity, whereas other dimensions –fluency and originality creativity (non-verbal ) boys and girls do not differ significantly.
