Abstract

Education for Sustainable Development is an "interdisciplinary learning methodology that covers integrated social, economic and environmental aspects of formal and informal curriculum. This academic approach can help graduates to nurture their knowledge, talents and experience to play a role in the development of the environment and become responsible members of the society. The Brundtland Commission defines sustainable development as meeting the needs of the present generation without jeopardizing the ability of the next generation to meet its own needs. Integrating important sustainable development issues in teaching and learning. This may include, for example, instructions about climate change, disaster risk reduction, biodiversity, and poverty reduction and sustainable consumption. It also requires participatory teaching and learning methods that encourage learners to change their behavior and take action for sustainable development.
